David Scholes
David Scholes is the principal of Australia's most dynamic, innovative and independent specialist property auction company, auctionWORKS
David commenced work in rural Australia conducting stock and station agency auctions. He moved to Sydney in the early 1990s to concentrate on what he has since come to successfully specialise in – auctioning residential and commercial real estate.
David now conducts some 1,600 auctions annually and employs 11 contract auctioneers to assist with on-site auctions. David now also conducts auctions regularly in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
He has received the Auctioneer of the Year Award from the Real Estate Institute of NSW and his regular clients include major financial institutions as well as some of the largest and most respected names in the Australian corporate and property sectors.
Much of auctionWORKS success is attributed to working closely with real estate sales teams. David ensures they fully understand the power and effectiveness of auction as a real estate selling method, and how they can best use it to generate sales in a timely fashion while maximising prices for vendors.
As David says, "Auctioneering involves far more than simply describing a property. It encompasses timing, an ability to build immediate rapport with the buyers, a relaxed and friendly attitude that makes bidders comfortable, an intimate knowledge of the product being offered and of the current market circumstances that apply, a thorough understanding of real estate law, and above all else, a hunger to extract the last dollar from the buying public."
Training up-and-coming young auctioneers is another area of expertise for David as well as conducting CPD training courses in the real estate auction process.

Jesse Davidson
Jesse comes from a rural background but was educated in Sydney. This mix of city and country means Jesse understands the intrinsic principles of auction and also appreciates peoples’ passion for owning and trading real estate.
After completing his Bachelor in Business early in 2009, Jesse accepted a position with auctionworks and begun a rigorous training regime with David Scholes. Within months Jesse was awarded the Real Estate Institute of NSW 2010 Novice Auctioneering Champion.
Not only has Jesse received intensive auctioneering training, he also coordinates the marketing of residential and commercial properties for one of Australia’s largest financial institutions. This hand’s on real estate experience coupled with guidance from the country’s leading auctioneer has created an exceptional auctioneer who combines confidence and empathy to provide outstanding results for owners.
His first grade rugby union career has given him the ability to handle pressure and the competitive edge necessary to extract the final dollars.
Jesse is articulate, amusing and spontaneous in his delivery and works with an audience to make them comfortable in an otherwise stressful environment.
